The UC Scoop is a free weekly newsletter for people who want to discover more of Union County, New Jersey. Every Monday, we bring together local restaurants, upcoming events, small businesses, arts and culture, and ways to get involved in the community.

The UC Scoop has been published weekly since January 2025.

The goal isn’t to give you the longest list. It’s to help you find a few good reasons to get out: a new place to eat, a market to visit, an event to put on the calendar or a local business worth knowing about.

Hi, I’m Hock, the person behind The UC Scoop. I’ve called Union County home for over two decades. I started The UC Scoop to make it easier to keep up with what’s happening around the county and to shine a light on the businesses and community events that make each town special.
