☀️ Happy Monday, Union County!

Hope everyone had a great Fourth! The holiday's behind us, but Union County isn't slowing down. Westfield's Sweet Sounds Downtown concert series kicks off Tuesday, right as PopUp Bagels moves in a few doors from Manhattan Bagel and stirs up a little friendly rivalry. Add in a new concert night in Linden, farmers markets running all week, and a full slate of Thursday and Friday shows in Summit and Rahway, and there's plenty to fill your calendar. Let's get into it.

New Openings

Two new food spots are worth putting on your radar this week, including one that comes with an actual neighborhood rivalry.

🥯 PopUp Bagels Opens in Westfield (July 10)
220 South Ave. W., Westfield

The cult NYC bagel brand is opening its first New Jersey shop just steps from Manhattan Bagel, and the timing has already stirred up some friendly rivalry. PopUp is known for hot, whole bagels sold in sets of three, meant to be torn and dipped into schmear rather than sliced for a sandwich. Then there is Bagel Chateau nearby on South Ave. A fourth bagel shop, Bagel Cafe NJ, has also announced plans to open at 272 N Ave E, so Westfield's bagel scene is getting crowded fast.

🥪 Tony Boy's Sandwich House (Coming Soon)
102c North Union Ave., Cranford

Still no firm opening date for this Cranford sandwich shop, but signage is up and the location is listed as "coming soon" on their site. Known for oversized sandwiches, cheesesteaks, and Italian deli favorites at their other NJ locations, it's one worth keeping an eye on if you love a good hero.
