☀️ Happy Monday, UC neighbors!

Memorial Day weekend is finally here, and around Union County that usually means the unofficial start of summer. Farmers markets are coming back, outdoor dining is filling up again, and community events are popping up across the county all week long.

Before we dive in, a quick thank you to everyone who participated in last week’s town poll. We had nearly 100 responses — our biggest poll yet — with readers tuning in from all across the county. The largest groups came from Central Union County towns like Westfield, Cranford, Scotch Plains, and Fanwood, followed closely by eastern towns including Union, Roselle Park, Kenilworth, and Roselle. It’s been exciting to see just how many different communities are reading and sharing The UC Scoop each week.

As always, thanks for exploring Union County with us. Let’s get into this week’s Scoop.

New in Westfield

Lulu’s
401 South Ave. W, Westfield

A new Ecuadorian spot has quietly opened on South Avenue West, bringing another Latin American dining option to Westfield. The restaurant is open daily for breakfast and lunch-style hours, making it an interesting addition to the South Avenue corridor.

Coming soon in Westfield

The Kitchen by Feast Catering
401 Cumberland Street, Westfield

After closing its longtime café at the end of 2024, Feast Catering is making a return with a new concept called The Kitchen by Feast Catering. The new space will focus primarily on catering while also offering takeaway soups, sandwiches, salads, prepared meals, and some longtime customer favorites. Owner and chef Stephen Bigmore says the new location is designed around easier pickup, convenient parking, and a more streamlined food offering. Opening updates are expected soon.
